Anthony Foster, Vice President of Programs & Policy at the Mayor’s Fund for Los Angeles, has been selected by the California Legislative LGBTQ Caucus as a 2025 honoree in recognition of his leadership advancing representation and inspiring the community through public service.

“Anthony is an example of true dedication and commitment,” said Mayor Karen Bass. “Thousands of Angelenos have received life-saving resources including eviction prevention services through the Mayor’s Fund that helped lead to the first decline in homelessness in years. I’m looking forward to his continued work to better the City of Los Angeles.”

Foster has played a key role in developing public-private partnerships at the Mayor’s Fund for Los Angeles to address the city’s homelessness challenges, including the Fund’s We Are LA program, which prevents homelessness by connecting at-risk Angelenos with resources to prevent evictions and help them stay in their homes.

“This recognition reflects the collective efforts of everyone at the Mayor’s Fund and our community partners working on programs like We Are LA,” said Foster. “We’re proving that when we bring diverse perspectives to public-private partnerships, we can meaningfully address complex challenges like homelessness prevention.”

Born and raised in Los Angeles, Foster previously served as Director of Major Gifts at Community Coalition. “Anthony is transforming how we invest in equity with roots deep in South L.A., and a heart committed to justice,” said Assemblymember Sade Elhawary, LGBTQ Caucus Member who nominated Foster.

The 2025 California Legislative LGBTQ Caucus honorees were formally recognized last week, June 23rd, at the California State Capitol.

About the Mayor’s Fund for Los Angeles
The Mayor’s Fund for Los Angeles prevents Angelenos from falling into homelessness through partnerships with community organizations providing access to services and support, available housing, healthcare, and legal services. We serve some of the city’s most vulnerable residents, from families facing eviction to youth as they age out of the foster care system. We’re working to ensure all Angelenos stay housed.
