Partner Spotlight: St. John’s Community Health
The We Are LA eviction-prevention program could not succeed without the help of partners like St. John’s Community Health. They have been part of the program since We Are LA’s launch.
St. John’s Community Health is a network of clinics that serve over 200,000 people a year in Los Angeles providing medical, dental, mental health, and substance use services as well as case management, supportive services, and outreach services. As a We Are LA partner, they have hired 10 dedicated caseworkers to serve patients at risk of eviction and homelessness. Because preventing a person or family from becoming homeless is so crucial to their health, St. John’s is dedicated to helping connect patients who are in danger of becoming homeless to all the resources available to them.
Their team members circulate through the lobbies of their health centers and screen customers who are in danger of eviction to connect them to the We Are LA network of services that can help them stabilize their housing and avoid eviction. As part of the We Are LA program, they’ve engaged over 240,000 patients to see if they could benefit from the services provided by We Are LA and have linked over 20,000 people to the needed eviction prevention services.
Working in partnership with St. John’s and our other partners, We Are LA has reached more than 400,000 Angelenos and helped more than 32,000 people who have needed assistance.
